In May 2018, Transport Minister Marc Garneau announced a federal funding commitment towards the Pitt River Road and Colony Farm Road Overpasses Project. Its one of the projects within our Greater Vancouver Gateway 2030 strategy to ensure that the Vancouver gateway is ready to meet Canadian trade to 2030. The funding received will allow us to work with the Kwikwetlem First Nation, City of Coquitlam, City of Port Coquitlam, Metro Vancouver, BC Housing, railways, and industry to develop designs for these projects and engage with community members and key stakeholders.
Hear from the leadership of the Kwikwetlem First Nation about why they’re pleased that these projects have received funding, and how these projects would bring significant economic development, social and community benefits to their members, all while supporting growth in Canada’s international trade.
